Ongoing Projects
Reach the Regions
US Educated Alumni Association (AAA) is successfully implementing “Reach the Regions” Project since July 2008. The main purpose of the Project is to aid capacity and community building initiatives in the regions by enhancing the association's regional outreach programs and expanding the impact of alumni activities to people outside Baku. With assistance of AAA, a range of productive seminars and lectures have aimed at informing the citizens about studying abroad opportunities by means of current exchange programs implemented by international educational initiatives. Career Resource Center
AAA has established a Career Resource Center in April 2006. The aim of this center is to train AAA alumni as well as members of other youth organizations in such career-related topics such as job hunting, cv writing, interview preparations and others. AAA Career Resource Center also organizes presentations by the Human Resources representatives of large companies based in Baku. It also has a rich library for the use of alumni.
Topic of the lectures:
Promoting Interactive Teaching through Alumni Teachers Network
The purpose of the Promoting Interactive Teaching through Alumni Teachers Network is to assist the Ministry of Education with the implementation of the secondary school reform. The alumni of TEA and PIE programs will lead the project. The Curriculum Center at the Ministry of Education will provide the alumni with the new methodology and materials. The Association will identify two pilot regions and PIE/TEA alumni who are familiar with the current education reform, interactive teaching methods and new curriculum development issues will organize trainings for teachers in select pilot regions on the new curriculum that is currently being developed by the Ministry of Education and modern teaching methods.
Policy Roundtables
Monthly round tables on policy issues are aimed at narrowing the gap between the youth of the country, more specifically alumni community and the governmental representative in decision-making process. The policy round tables take place in Baku. The representatives of NGOs, public and the media are also invited to participate in the round table and have a direct access to these policy makers.
Through the venue, provided by the policy roundtables, the alumni get an excellent opportunity to talk to the policy-makers (deputies, members of the Ministries, Committees, etc), bring their concerns and ideas to their attention, offer policy recommendation and suggestions on problem solving. Each round table is organized on a specific topic, such as economics, social problems, foreign policy, etc. In general, this is alumni's chance to participate in Azerbaijan's governance and development.
